Toughen Up

Sometimes you want to feel classic and elegant, sometimes you want to feel modern and edgy, sometimes you want to feel playful and fun, but there is always that time when you want to feel rocker tough.  The runways for fall and winter were all across the board, but there were some stronger looks shown.  They weren't really hard edge punk of course but they had elements of goth romanticism, and were softened slightly by colors that weren't quite so extreme.  I took my tough look and softened it with a little color mixed in while keeping the lines of the top and pants not so severe by having more flare and drape to round out the edges.  Since the motorcycle jacket plays with stripes and color blocking, it's not as severe either and gives an overall look of don't mess with me, but I'm still approachable - maybe!

The Logical Solution

The logical solution - lunch!  When in doubt on where to go, food is always a good answer.  I decided I wanted a piled high veggie burger with jalapenos and onion rings from Smashburger.  It was a great choice and very satisfying - I just wish I would have topped it off with a milkshake!

Braided and Layered

With my own version of a hairstyle shown on the Valentino summer runway, I decided to spring ahead and mix it with a winter outfit (minus the coat).  Their look complimented the soft, romantic clothes, but I wanted to rough my version up a bit so I just slept on it overnight!  I decided that even as the colder temperatures begin to dwindle, I could still wear those slightly thinner clothes and layer them up with some accessories to make them more season appropriate.  Simple and unstructured is a comfy choice for lounging around the house, but in this case, it goes out and about just as easily.  In fact, I'm eyeing the streets below deciding just where I should go.

Maybe I should braid Logo's hair?

Springtime Daydreams

Burberry is classic, but the Prorsum line always has an edge and gives the lucky wearer beautifully crafted pieces that feel elegant yet easy and up-to-date without being too trendy.  Their bright colors for winter were perfect splashes of happiness on otherwise cloudy days.  Entering the glass Fort Worth Modern Art Museum, David had a little spring in his step, and I think it was due to the shocking hue of his coat as well as some thoughts of what all he wants from the Burberry Prorsum spring line.  (I know he has his eye on some washed denim pieces, jackets with crochet details and raffia collars, and a pom pom peak hat to go with his already purchased tapestry desert boots!)

Silly and Sunny

It was a brisk winter day - perfect for exploring so I put on my "rugged" gear and headed out!  After a hearty breakfast of yummy pancakes, I stopped in front of this pop graffiti garage for a little pic session.
