Seeing Right Through It

Sally La Pointe sent out little clear cubes as the invitation to the spring/summer show so I didn't know exactly what to expect.  Would it be modern, minimal, and almost invisible?  Arriving at the show, the venue was heavy with its thick white arches and columns scattered around the space, and the lighting was so dark I had to turn on my phone just to light my way; however, when the show started, it was avant garde to the max.  The clothes had an almost gothic feel to them yet seemed very ethereal at the same time - a contradiction that went well with all the components from this designer.  Those little cubes tricked me but gave me access to a show that didn't disappoint and one that had a clear vision of the future season ahead.

Apologies for the distant photos (the place was super packed, and I was not close)

Glamour 101

Glamour can be simple.  It can even be minimal.  Now I don't necessarily cater to that concept because you know I think more is more, but every now and then, I see a show that puts a little hint of second guessing in my mind and makes me think ok ok sometimes a minimal look is really chic.  Stripped down to the bare essentials but using shapes that are anything but and fabrics that are the most luxurious will even make me want to sometimes leave the accessories at home.  The spring/summer show from Yigal Azrouel tightened it up and turned it out with a polished look that made me wanting more (in a less is more kind of way)!

Crisp white with a simple black shoe and no fuss hair
A little skin
Shirt dressing
Soft leather

Are they trousers or a skirt?  Super wide leg leather pants

Street Chic

I love a celebrity, and for me that means anyone who has ever been on tv, in print, or basically anything that even remotely makes them known.  That's why fashion week for me is a celebrity hunt but not just "Hollywood" types but anyone in the fashion industry - executives, editors, designers, photographers, stylists - you name it.  I was lucky enough this last time to see it all.

Vacation Anyone?

Jet-setting off to the Italian Riviera sounds delightful with all its cinematic coastal scenery and sweeping romanticism so for packing purposes, look no further than the Nonoo spring/summer 2012 collection.  Misha Nonoo showed a runway of looks that were inspired by this nostalgic destination full of decadence and glamour.  All the pieces were easy, simple, and refined with an emphasis on luxury and quality rather than trend.  These are clothes that last a life-time in any girl's wardrobe.
