Well if you know anything about me, you are aware that I am a workaholic. No, really. It often gets in the way of social events and holiday engagements. With being stuck in town and back to work tomorrow, today comes as no exception. I slept until noon and then leisurely got dressed to celebrate this joyous holiday. With no dinner reservations and little family around these parts to reunite with, David and I drove the streets in a new Mercedes rent-a-car due to a maintenance issue with the Porsche looking for a lunch spot that was open. We were not so lucky with most establishments so by default ended up at Grandy's "restaurant" in an old shopping strip in Dallas. The place was totally not fancy which is putting it nicely, but I'll let you be the judge of that. After scarfing down a feast of fried okra and buttered dinner rolls, we headed to the movie to see
My Week With Marilyn. I didn't know much about her, but I felt glamorous snuggled up in the theater in my Christian Dior wrap. The movie left me wanting to know more about this legendary woman. Call me crazy, but I felt like our lives were similar minus the pills and talent! Back home now and cuddling up with the pup and David. Hope all of you have yourselves a glorious holiday weekend and find reason to be thankful - I know I have two.
