Outside Fashions

David could not stop talking about the Rachel Roy collection for spring 2012.  First of all, it was on the second floor terrace of the Avery Fisher Hall building of Lincoln Center with some great views of the entire complex.  The crowd who attended were equally as chic as the clothes that were on display.  I ran through the presentation which was a mix of separates in sorbet colors and graphic black and white.  The pieces were easily interchangeable and full of fluidity.  The location was perfect for the show because the clothes were sporty and fresh for the outdoors but still dressy enough for most occasions.

David trailed behind and got stuck viewing the collection alongside Kim Kardashian.  She and her posse were walking along side him the whole way down the terrace so it was hard for him to take it all in due to the flashing bulbs surrounding them both, but from what he could see, the collection was one of his top picks.  Other celebs included Joy Bryant and Angela Simmons.

Women weren't the only ones showing spring outside.  Buckler showed their men's collection in the Meatpacking District down the middle of a street in between blocked off intersections.  I had to sit curbside for this one due to the direct sunlight and ever expanding blister on my toe, but the show was full of clothing for any urban guy on the go.  Leather jackets and wrap pieces paired with draped shorts, hoods, and lace-up shoes to give it all more edge.  The palate was neutral and somewhat somber, but the show was revved up and full of energy which let the wearer bring his own personality to each look.
