D Home and Diamonds

The other night I attended the blog launch for D Home Magazine held at the showroom of Allan Knight in the Design District.  This was my third party in two weeks that was in this complex so I was sure to know my way around; however, I was not so familiar with Allan's expansive space and all that was currently filling it.  The showroom was set up with mini vignettes that gave a touch of what your room could look like if you dropped several thousand.

Looking about their selection of pillows, there were some with to-die-for zig zag patterns in plenty of color variations for a mere 500 bucks, but one of my favorites was a gold studded number that I was too scared to ask about the price.  One of the associates Grant gave me a tour of some of the antique hats on display including a feathered head dress from Africa that mounted on the wall (my Philip Treacy zebra print hat even paled in comparison to this collection).

I let Grant mingle with the guests while I checked out some of their modern dining room tables but for what reason though I'm not certain being that I don't entertain.  I just need a cocktail table and a couple of bar stools, and I'm happy.

Not wearing any jewelry to this party and instead just a simple Vera Wang sleeveless top, I felt naked.  No one would have paid attention to my bling anyway due to the amazing sparkle coming from the wall sconces and chandeliers.  Oh... my...diamonds ARE a girl's best friend.
